Job Description:
Manages the daily activities of the Communications Utility Enterprise Fund of the City of Leesburg. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Communications Utility staff, who are responsible for implementation and support of internal and external utility customers for the City’s fiber optic communications business. Develops, and implements procedures and policies to support all aspects of the utility’s financial and customer service goals, including P & L budget responsibility, budget analysis, establishment of revenue and expenditure budgets, asset protection, and cost control. Develops plans for acquiring new fiber optic customers, meets with prospective customers for fiber optic services, and performs financial analysis of each customer acquisition to ensure acquisition is financially viable. Provides reports, determines method for installing new fiber optic connections, presents contract recommendations and modifications to senior management and the City Commission, and recommends changes, upgrades, and additions to existing service offerings. Must have experience in a P & L budget environment, direct management of staff, and knowledge of a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures for installing and supporting communications networks. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Ability to set priorities, and manage in a dynamic business environment. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or Computer Information Systems. Requires a valid State of Florida driver license. Requires four (4) years experience (within the past seven (7) years) in a position directly responsible for management of staff and administration of broadband networks, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $52,104 - $76,481
