Parking Garage
The project started approximately a year ago with the selection of the design-build/firm. The City paid approximately $1.1 million for a design/build project for the parking structure. A CDBG grant in the amount of $750,000 was obtained to pay for the majority of the garage cost.
Parking spaces are built 10 feet by 20 feet, providing 204 parking spaces in the garage, including 4 handicap spaces. The adjacent North and South parking lots have been resurfaced and have 2 handicapped spaces each.
Citizens may access the South entrance to the garage off of Palmetto, Main or First Streets and the North entrance off of Meadow Street.
All areas of the parking garage are well lit and exterior lighting fixtures are consistent with the lighting design incorporated into the Downtown Streetscape.
