On November 18, 2003 staff will began to move from the old building to the new building. The new department, which is more than twice the size of the existing building, houses all divisions of the department under one roof. Added features of the new Police headquarters include better training facilities, a crime lab, a high tech communications center, and much needed space for expansion and growth. With the move completed, the old Police building will be torn down and a parking area will be constructed in its place.
