The purpose of this class is to operate a marina forklift and mobile equipment in support of the City’s marina operations. This class is responsible for safely moving boats to and from the water to storage, fueling boats, and driving boats as needed. This class may be responsible for operating light to medium mobile equipment, minor equipment maintenance, assisting and supporting Marina facility and area maintenance, and minor administrative tasks. Maintaining a safe and clean environment while assisting members in a courteous manner. The class works according to some procedures, but decides how and when to do things under general supervision. Requires experience in the operation of light to medium equipment. Some customer service experience required. Forklift experience and knowledge of boats is required. Requires a High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED). Experience operating a marine forklift in a marina environment preferable. Must be available to work weekends and evenings. Days and hours to be determined. Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. CPR certification preferred. Forklift operator certification is highly recommended. Candidate must complete City of Leesburg forklift safety training and environmental safety within 60 days of employment.
