Babies and Toddlers Get New Programs at the Leesburg Public LibraryToddler Time resumes at the Leesburg Public Library on September 5 at 4 PM, and on September 7 at 10:30 AM with a new look and some new rules. This program involves toddlers and their moms, dads or caregivers in simple stories, repetitive games, and other activities including the very popular “bubble dance” that concludes each session. Toddler Times are scheduled on the 1st and 3rd week of each month. Attendance will be limited to the first 20 children signed up. Walk-ins will be accommodated only as space allows, and “no shows” may be replaced in the registration. Call the library at 728-9790 to enroll your child.
A new program, Toddler Play ‘n Learn, will be held on the 2nd and 4th week of each month and will introduce registered children and caregivers to learning concepts for children, ages infant to 36 months. The Leesburg Public Library has purchased new toys to reinforce learning in the youngest children, and will feature guests, throughout the year, to talk about developmental stages, safety, nutrition, etc. Parents who bring older siblings to Play ‘n Learn should bring other activities for the older child. The activities provided will be specifically geared to our youngest library patrons. Registration is required for this program with a maximum attendance of 15 children and caregivers.
The Leesburg Public Library continues to be part of the Born to Read Program, sponsored by the Lake County Library which provides children, ages 3 and younger, with a colorful board book for their personal library when they are signed up for a new library card. September is “Get the Smartest Card@ the Library” month, and is a great time for all children to register for library cards.
