The Leesburg Police Department is a very progressive agency which currently employs
73 sworn officers and 35 civilians. We are the largest municipal agency in Lake
County and often set the trends and standards for law enforcement within the county.
We are also a "Community Oriented Policing" (C.O.P.) department.
The department is divided into three divisions;
Road Patrol,
Criminal Investigations,
and Support Services.
Within these divisions there are various specialized units including
Motor Patrol,
S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons And Tactics),
T.A.C.C. (Targeting Areas of Community Concern),
Narcotics/Vice,
Community Services,
Dare,
Code Enforcement
and Animal Control.
