INCENTIVE AND REBATE PROGRAMS

Water Incentive and Rebate Program

The City of Leesburg has recently launched a new incentive and rebate program in hopes of reducing unnecessary water waste. The program targets homes with water-consuming fixtures installed prior to 1994. Outdated fixtures installed before this time allow for excessive water waste because those fixtures do not meet the standards established in the Energy Policy Act.

The program also targets homes that have inefficient irrigation systems. Over fifty percent of potable water used within the City is due to residential irrigation. By upgrading inefficient irrigation systems and repairing broken pipes, customers will ultimately save money on their utility bill each month as well as saving Florida’s potable water supply.

Electric Incentive and Rebate Program

Over the past several decades, home appliances have become more energy efficient. When you purchase and install these products, you can save energy and money while reducing your impact on the environment.

Replacing old energy-hogging appliances can create significant savings on monthly energy bills. Investing in those appliances, while cost-effective in the long run, may not be affordable in the short term. To help customers invest in energy-efficient appliances, Leesburg Electric is offering rebates for qualified, energy-efficient products.

Leesburg’s Energy Efficiency Rebate Program is made possible through a joint partnership with the Florida Municipal Power Agency and other public power utilities throughout the state. Rebates are offered to Leesburg Electric customers on a first-come, first-served basis.
