Start Smart League / Pre-K
Start Smart Sports put the FUN in fundamentals for you and your child. Parent-child groups perform motor skill tasks that gradually build confidence in children while they are having fun. Challenges, games, and play time combine to ensure success for your child.
Each skill is introduced to the parent-child group and then the skill is practiced. Fun and games are used to teach and reinforce skills like running, pitching, catching, shooting, ball handling, and more. Progress is exciting and success builds confidence.
Start Smart prepares children for organized sports in a fun non-threatening environment. It prepares children and their parents without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.
Smart Start is a 6 week instructional program that helps parents work one-on-one with their children while teaching them the basics of sports: dribbling/ball handling, pitching/catching, running/agility, etc. The program helps prepare children for organized sports by using safe and fun equipment to teach them the basic motor skills needed to compete.
Smart Start is open to children (3-5 years old) who can attend each session with their parent or another significant adult to prepare for organized sports.
Smart Start will be held at the Recreation Complex for 6 consecutive weeks.
Each Parent-Child group will be charged $30 city residents/$45 non-city residents which includes a Smart Start T-shirt for the child.
Registration for any sports program requires a Registration Form.
