New Community Center Underway

New Community Center Underway

Community leaders broke ground on the new Leesburg Community Center on July 24th.  As part of the plan to reestablish Venetian Gardens as a regional attraction, the City has already improved Roger’s Park and added passive park amenities along Ski Beach.

The Community Center ground breaking signified the next step in the overall redesign of Dozier Circle.  When completed, the project will provide a 20,000 square foot building that includes a welcoming lobby, three meeting rooms, covered portico and a backyard terrace with a walking bridge connecting the facility to Martin Luther King Island.  The design was created to accentuate the beautiful views offered by our magnificent basin.   Along with parking improvements and new landscaping, the project capitalizes on our moto – “The Lakefront City”.  Completion is slated for July 2019.

Below are several artist renderings of the project.
