The purpose of the class is to perform routine manual work in both Wastewater Collections and Stormwater divisions. This class is responsible for service work such as digging trenches, cleaning ditches; assists with installation of fixtures such as pipes, valves, fittings, and manholes; landscape, road, sidewalk, driveway restoration and other outdoor work. Completes logs or routine records. The class works according to set procedures under direct supervision. Weekend, holiday and after hours work may be required, as well as after-hours response and emergencies. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Must obtain a Class B CDL permit w/tanker within 3 months of hire and license with no restrictions within 6 months of employment. MOT approved certification within 18 months of hire. Confined Space Entry Certification within 18 months of hire. Must obtain a Class C Wastewater Collections Certification within 18 months of hire. Employee must live within a 20-mile radius of the intersection of Main Street and 14th Street in Leesburg due to on-call rotation requirement.
