SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2018
Registration begins Monday, May 14 in the Youth Services Department. Our Summer Reading Program begins June 9 with our Kick-Off event featuring live entertainment. Regular programs begin on Monday, June 11, at 11:00 am with our first professional performers, Cirque du Jour: Bucky and Gigi! Read on for the whole fantastic line-up of popular performers and programs for youth and families. You do not have to be registered in order to attend programs, but you do need to be registered and complete the 12 hours of reading in order to attend the Summer Reading Party on Saturday, July 21 and be eligible to win prizes. Further information about the reading program will be available at registration along with a free goodie bag when you register! The Youth Summer Reading Program is for ages birth (read to me) through high school.

Summer Reading Program Performers

A wide variety of fantastic professional entertainers will be presenting their stunning and interactive performances during our Summer Reading Program 2018. Don’t miss them! Free and open to the public.
Summer Circus Class
Mondays, June 11 through July 16, 1:00pm – 2:30pm
Ages: 7 - 18
This exciting series of classes introduces youth
to various object manipulation skills, such as juggling,
plate spinning, diabolos, and more. Games will be played
and new skills acquired while having a great time! In addition,
students will be taught how to present to an audience and
rehearse a short stage performance. The stage performance
will conclude the classes. The series is taught by internationally
known professional circus performer Tim “Trick” Hocker.
No registration is required.
Summer @ the Movies
Tuesdays, June 12 through July 17, 2:00pm
Looking to beat the heat? Every Tuesday
at 2:00pm there will be a showing of a
recently released family-friendly movie
on the big screen in our comfortable,
climate-controlled meeting room.
Royal the Dog

By popular demand, Royal returns to the library as Royal the Pawboy, that’s “cowboy” to you and me, for a fun crafting, learning, and photo opportunity time. Meet Royal as he rides in on his horse and shares his rescue story with you. He will perform tricks and share how he learned them. You can visit with Royal and create your very paper hobby horse and ride a trail with him. Wear your favorite western cowboy duds and take your picture with this adorable, loveable Shih Tzu mix.
No registration required. Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by a caregiver at least 16 years of age in order to participate.
