 DOG OBEDIENCE CLASSES

Sit and Stay LLC. will be offering basic training classes for the family dog.

• Classes begin:    
                                 October 5th through November 23rd
                                 Better Manners I     •     9:00-10:00 a.m.
                                 Better Manners II    •     10:30-11:30 a.m.
                                                               

• Classes run 8-week sessions at the Leesburg Shuffle Board Courts (321 S. Palmetto Street) - includes training instructions.

• Dog Owners must be able to provide proof of vaccinations.

• Sessions are $100 per dog - Class size is limited.


Canine Group Training Classes

     Better Manners I -  The Better Manners I class is a 6 week course designed for puppies who have received their final vaccinations and adult dogs of any age that have had no formal obedience training. Multiple training techniques will be introduced with the main focus on positive reinforcement methods. Behavioral topics will be discussed such as the importance of relationship-based training, canine learning theory, socialization, and behavioral challenges. Participants will learn how to teach their dogs the basic commands of Sit, Down,Touch,Look,Wait,Stand,as well as training techniques for recall, body handling, jumping,and polite leash walking.Beginning phases of the commands Stay and Leave It will be introduced.Ample time will be allotted during class to practice new behaviors.

     Better Manners II -  The Better Manners II class is a 6 week course designed as a continuation of training for those dogs that have completed the Better Manners I class. Class time will continue to reinforce previously learned behaviors from Class I, while expanding on the training for previously introduced commands such as Leave It and Stay. New commands such as Close, Over, Back, Come, and Come- to-Heewill  be introducedWe will begin to focus on generalizing commands and polite people and dog-dog greetingsDiscussion topics may include dog reactivity, motivation, safety in public; and behavioral challenges . Ample time will be allowed during class to practice new behaviors.
