Lake County Schools to Present New Show on Lakefront TV

Lake County Schools and Lakefront TV will present a new program this weekend featuring news about local students, activities and school programs.

“Inside Lake Schools” features school students and faculty reporting information from around the county’s public schools. The show will appear on Lakefront TV at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27 and 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 30.

Each new episode will feature a different student as guest host. Lake Minneola High School student Kristyn Evens hosts the first show with several reports including results from the county’s STEM Bowl competition and finalists for the district’s rookie teacher of the year recognition.

Chief Academic Officer David Christiansen, who joined Lake Schools in January, provides an extensive interview into improvements for Lake’s high schools. One proposal for a seven-period class schedule will provide more instructional time for students while saving the district $4.6 million in operation costs.

Lakefront TV appears daily on Comcast cable channel 22, Brighthouse channel 199 and Florida Cable channel 4. The channel also streams live on the Internet at www.lakefronttv.com.
