Parishioners from different religious denominations across Lake and Sumter counties will come together to commemorate the Dr. MLK holiday. An uplifting event including performances by choirs, soloists, praise dancers and youth groups. Come celebrated Dr. King’s religious roots.

14th Annual Student Literary Awards Ceremony

Lake & Sumter middle school, high school, private/charter school, and college students will participate in this annual contest. Students compete in Essay, Oratorical, Art, and Skit/Theatrical, Multimedia/Music categories, receiving certificates, trophies, scholarships and cash prizes for their work. Come celebrate the academic and artistic talents of our youth.

11th Annual Dr. MLK, Jr. Parade/March
Saturday, January 13, 2018, 11 a.m.—12:30 p.m.
Main Street, Downtown Leesburg

A multicultural parade/march of floats, cars, motorcycles, bands, beauty queens, steppers, twirlers, armed services, & others. This parade/march is open to all with the goal of reinforcing the concepts and values of economic justice, peace, and respect for all cultures while honoring Dr. King’s memory and teachings.
