City of Leesburg offers coronavirus payment plan for utility customers

LEESBURG, FL - The City of Leesburg is offering a special payment plan for all customers following the lifting of Governor Ron DeSantis’ Safer at Home order. Customers who call to set up a payment plan will have until December 31, 2020 to pay their outstanding utility bills.

Among other actions, Leesburg paused disconnects for non-payment and late fees in mid-March to provide financial relief to customers during the pandemic. Disconnects for non-payment will resume June 15th. Late fees will continue to be waived until further notice. Customers who set up a payment plan and continue to pay their current bill, plus payment arrangement, will not be disconnected.

Customers wanting to set up a payment plan will need to call Customer Service at (352) 728-9800 to make a payment arrangement. The City of Leesburg call center is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Customers who are still having trouble paying their utility bill should contact Customer Service to see what additional payment assistance programs may be available.
