Celebrate the holidays in Leesburg

     LEESBURG, FL - Leesburg begins the holiday season this week with the first of many fun and entertaining events.

     The Christmas displays in Venetian Gardens will light up early this year and stay lit longer than in the past. Beginning on Wednesday, November 25th visitors to the park can enjoy over 1 million lights including the centerpiece, a new 22’ musical Christmas tree.  It takes city staff three months to install the decorations and ensure they are synced together and working properly. The displays will remain on through January 8th

     Downtown Leesburg merchants will be celebrating small business Friday on November 27th with the “Plaid is the New Black Friday Cookie Crawl”. Participating establishments will offer delicious cookies and be open for extended hours. Shopping these downtown businesses is a great way to support the local economy.

     The Main Street Christmas Stroll is Friday, November 27th from 6 pm – 9 pm. This event has become a family tradition for many residents.  Stroll the streets of downtown Leesburg and browse through shops while snow falls around you.  There will be live entertainment along with an amazing synchronized display of over 40,000 holiday lights in Towne Square, including a 24’ Christmas tree. 

     At 6 pm on Saturday, December 5th, the 53rd annual Leesburg Christmas Parade will step off along Main Street in downtown Leesburg. Participants include music and dance groups, businesses, civic organizations and Santa Claus. For the first time ever, the parade will be aired live on Lakefront TV. Lakefront TV can be found on Xfinity 22, Prism 21, Spectrum 497, Apple TV, Roku and at LakeFrontTV.com.

     Saturday, December 12th at 5pm brings the holiday version of the 50’s on Main Street Cruise-In. Come to Towne Square to enjoy live music and see a variety of amazing cars from antiques to modern day.  Best in Class trophies are awarded and the winners parade takes place at 7 pm.
