LEESBURG, FL - A baseball game, water ski show, live music, plenty of food, family activities and the area’s most spectacular fireworks display are all part of Leesburg’s upcoming Fourth of July Celebration.  The event begins at 12 noon at The Lakefront in beautiful Venetian Gardens, 1 Dozier Court, Leesburg.

A free Kid’s Play Zone with inflatables, face painting, balloon artist and photo booth opens at 12:00pm. Food vendors will serve up hamburgers, funnel cakes and more. The water ski show starts at 5:00pm, Hayfire takes the stage with live music at 6:00pm and Zambelli Fireworks will present Lake County’s largest fireworks display at 9:00pm.  Entertainment and vendors, including the Kids Zone, will be located at Ski Beach.  Viewing areas for the fireworks are available all around the park.

The Leesburg Lightning – defending champions of the Florida Collegiate Summer League – will challenge the Sandford River Rats starting at 5:00pm at Pat Thomas Stadium. The stadium also provides ideal seating to watch the fireworks. The City splash pad in Rogers Park will be open 10:00am to 6:00pm with the standard admission fee of $2.00.

Since event activities will be held at Ski Beach, there is limited public parking in the grass area only. Some parking is available around the Venetian Center and the baseball stadium.  Drivers are also encouraged to use convenient sites north of Dixie Avenue including the ballfield at the corner of Canal and Dixie and the lot by the shuffleboard courts on 2nd Street as well as the LRMC Medical Plaza on the south side of Dixie. Space is also available throughout downtown Leesburg including the parking garage at Main and Palmetto streets.   Please do not block residential driveways, roads or sidewalks.

The Leesburg Police Department asks that all pedestrians cross Dixie Avenue only at the traffic lights at Canal Street or 9th Street.  Crossing guards will be stationed at these intersections.

To allow for event set-up, the Point at Ski Beach will be closed to the public on Friday, July 1st  at 10:00pm and will reopen on Tuesday, July 5th at 7:00am.  The Ski Beach boat ramp, road and gate will be closed on Saturday, July 2nd at 10:00pm and will reopen on Tuesday, July 5th at 7:00am.
