Leesburg announces new all-way stop intersections on Main Street

LEESBURG, FL – The Leesburg Public Works Department is decommissioning two traffic signals in downtown Leesburg at the intersections of West Main Street and North 3^rd Street and West Main Street and North 6^th Street. On March 29, 2023, these intersections will become four-way stops, marked with flashing red signal lights and all-way stops signs. Main and 6th All-Way Stop4

These changes are being made to address public safety and reduce vehicle speed on Main Street.

Other traffic control devices such as permanent flashing red signals, repainted pedestrian crossings and decorative stop signs are scheduled to be in place by Friday April 14, 2023.

Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use extra caution while navigating these areas as everyone learns the new traffic patterns.
