The Leesburg Police Department is a progressive law enforcement agency with 121 employees who provide the highest level of service to our citizens and visitors . We are a "Community Oriented Policing" (C.O.P.) department that utilizes a problem-solving philosophy supported by intelligence-led principles. We perform traditional enforcement activities while consistently seeking long-term problem resolution in various partnerships with our citizens.
The department is divided into three Bureaus; Uniform Patrol, Special Services & Investigations, and Support Services. Within these Bureaus there are various specialized units including the Traffic Unit, S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons And Tactics), Narcotics/Vice, Community Services, Crime Prevention and Code Enforcement.

The Leesburg Police Department has partnered with CityProtect.com, a large collection of law enforcement agencies committed to transparency, public access and citizen engagement. The site is designed to help residents better understand where crime is happening in their communities.

Under F.S.S. 119, some public record requests may be subject to exemption and may not be releasable to the public.
