This button (or the My Account link on the left panel) will take you directly to your account on the library catalog website.  There you can check to see what you have borrowed, what items are due and when, what you have on "hold", what items might have come in for you to pick up, and you can renew items from home.  From there you can go to the main catalog page, look up items, create lists, etc.
Friends of the Leesburg Library Creative Writing Essay Contest Winners!!!

Friends of the Leesburg Library are proud to announce the winners of our Spring 2009 Creative Writing Essay Contest. Please go to our Kids page for Elementary School Winners and our Teens page for Middle School Winners. Congratulations to all participants!

Adult Summer Reading Program
Why should the kids have all the fun?  If you are over 18 and have a library card, you can register for our Adult Summer Reading Program and be eligible to win one of several themed gift baskets!  Registration begins June 1st at the First Floor Service Desk.  Prizes will be awarded on July 27th (you need not be present to win). Join us as we MASTER THE ART OF READING this summer! (No artistic talent required.)
Suzanne Pelcha, Artwork in Pastels
Suzanne Pelcha, prominent Leesburg artist and this year's featured artist for the Leesburg Center for the Arts 4th annual Art in the Gardens, will display and discuss some of her amazing pastel works in Meeting Room A at the Library on Saturday, July 11th at 1:00 pm.  The public is invited to attend this free event, scheduled as part of the Library's Master the Art of Reading 2009 Adult Summer Reading program. 
Beginning Genealogy Course in August
Learn how to begin searching your family history and genealogy!  Classes will meet at the Leesburg Library from 9:00 - Noon on the following Saturdays:  August 1st, 15th, and 29th.  A $15 donation to the Friends of the Leesburg Library will register you for the 3-part course.  Bring or mail your cash or check to the Library soon - classes fill up quickly!  For further information, please call 352-728-9790 or e-mail librarian@leesburgflorida.gov
Genealogy After Hours 2009

Under Used, Unheard of and Not So New Resources, or Where Have You NOT Looked? will be presented by noted genealogy speaker Pamela Cooper. All library resources will be available for researching your family tree. Library staff and genealogy volunteers will be on hand to assist, 5:30 – 8:30 pm Saturday, November 7th at the Leesburg Public Library, 100 East Main St., Leesburg, FL. Light refreshments provided. Bus Service to the Library
The Lake Transit bus now stops at the Leesburg Public Library on Main Street.  Riders can wait for the bus on the park bench under the awning on the Elk Street side of the main entrance.  Other benches are available on Elk Street near the "Bird Watchers" sculpture under the oak tree.  Stop by the Library to pick up a bus schedule.

Help Support Our Troops via "Operation Ziplock"
Our patrons and staff have already sent 705 care packages (in the form of one-gallon resealable bags of toiletries and personal items) to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan!  For information about how to help, come in to the Leesburg Library or call 352-728-9790.
